A story worth continuing

A new cover.
The same
favourite place.

The fabric may have had its day.
Your attachment to the piece hasn’t.

Perhaps it was chosen for your first home. Perhaps it was your mother’s chair, and now it is yours. Or perhaps it is simply the place you have sat, every evening, for years.

Wanting to keep a piece tells us something. It has earned its place. Sankey Service is here to help you keep it there — with re-upholstery, refurbishment or repair, according to what your John Sankey needs.

Send us photographs and a few details. We’ll contact you to discuss the work and provide a quotation.

A different fabric.

Re-cover your John Sankey in a fabric for the way you live now. We’ll discuss the options with you.

A familiar comfort.

If the seat, cushions or upholstery need attention, tell us what has changed. We’ll assess what can be renewed.

Care where it counts.

From a repair to a question about the frame, send us a closer look. We’ll advise on what your piece needs.

Made with the future in mind

An heirloom rarely
begins as one.

It begins as a chair you like. A sofa you choose. Then the years gather around it. It changes rooms, changes homes, belongs to somebody else.

A future heirloom begins with how it is made. John Sankey furniture is made with that longer view in mind: the foundations of a piece matter as much as the fabric you first fall for.

We’ll check any applicable guarantee or existing refurbishment entitlement when we assess your enquiry. Re-covering, fabric, other work and transport will be discussed in your quotation.

A few things you may be wondering

    Before you send your piece.

Do you work on furniture from other makers?

Sankey Service is for John Sankey furniture only. If you are unsure of the model, send photographs of the piece and any labels, and we’ll help identify it.

Can I enquire about a piece I inherited or bought second-hand?

Yes. We welcome service enquiries about John Sankey pieces however they came to you. We’ll assess the work and check any guarantee or refurbishment entitlement separately.

Does a frame guarantee cover re-upholstery?

A frame guarantee and a change of fabric are different matters. We’ll review what applies to your piece, including any existing refurbishment entitlement, and explain the proposed work and costs in your quotation.

Do I need to choose a fabric first?

No. Begin with your piece and what you would like to change. We can discuss fabric options when we contact you.

Will my story appear in the Journal?

Only with your separate permission. The service enquiry comes first. If you would like to talk about sharing your story, tick the optional box in the form.

What happens after I submit the form?

We’ll review your photographs and details, contact you to discuss the work, and provide a quotation. Any collection, delivery and timing arrangements will be discussed before you go ahead.

    Some are worth keeping.
