A classic chesterfield with a fixed back and seat. This compact shape is imbued with subtle details; the front border curves outwards slightly between the arms, the back and arms scroll in a continuous curve and the fine pleats on the front of the arms give a tailored finish. Orwell is neatly proportioned with a formal upright sitting position and has a fully sprung seat and back, softened with layers of recycled fibre for additional comfort. Each hand-crafted frame is made from sustainable hardwoods and double or triple dowelled, glued and screwed, with corner blocks for extra rigidity. John Sankey’s robust construction ensures that the frames will last a lifetime. This Grand Orwell sofa measures 220cm wide x 78cm high x 96cm deep, and is covered in Vintage Velvet Olive; a luxurious slubbed velvet with an sumptuous dappled surface, with two feather-filled pillows in luxury Sporting Life velvet. Solid beech feet are hand-polished with our Blackened Oak finish. Fabric compositions: Vintage Velvet 95% Polyester, 5% Viscose. Sporting Life - 83% Cotton, 17% Polyester. These fabrics are dry clean only.
