Manufacturing Guild Mark
John Sankey are proud holders of the Manufacturing Guild Mark, awarded for excellence in upholstery manufacture. The Manufacturing Guild Mark was presented by the Furniture Maker’s Compan in recognition of the highest standards in manufacture, covering all areas from design and quality control to employment conditions and sustainability.
One of the key attributes highlighted by the Manufacturing Guild Mark inspectors was John Sankey’s dedication to the Kaizen philosophy, a mind-set of continuous improvement. The Kaizen philosophy is central to our working practices, and we invest much of our time into research and development, to continuously produce the highest quality, creative designs.
The inspectors praised John Sankey’s commitment to the sustainability of both our products and the upholstery industry. We work closely with a local upholstery college, taking on and training apprentices to ensure that valuable upholstery skills are passed on to the next generation. Our furniture is made entirely in Long Eaton, giving us total control over the production, quality and sustainability of each component used, right down to the legs which are turned and polished on-site.
